Dear Parents/Carers,
As we reach the end of Module 6, which will draw to a close this academic year, I am writing to inform you of the arrangements for the last day of term. We have had another successful year here at The Halley and I am immensely proud of how our community has responded to the continuing pandemic. We have shown strength and resilience and a true determination that all barriers will be overcome and learning will not be affected.
On Wednesday 21st July 2021 students must attend in full academy uniform and will follow their normal timetable until 12.15pm, when they will be dismissed by the Leadership Team.
Students who are entitled to a free school meal will be able to purchase food at break time.
The Department for Education has encouraged students to continue to conduct COVID-19 Lateral Flow tests at home during the summer break. This testing should take place twice a week, with all results uploaded to the NHS Test and Trace Portal. Further information can be found on the Academy’s Home Testing Portal.
Please note that the Academy reopens to students on Wednesday 1st September 2021. More information on the start back to the academic year will follow.
On behalf of all the staff at The Halley Academy, I would like to thank you for your continued support during what has been a challenging year, and wish you and your families a very happy and restful summer break.
Yours faithfully,
John Dixon
Principal
