Misogyny is now a recognised category in recording Hate Crime

It was the stories of Halley Academy students Grace, Faridah, Sophie, Kiera, Mercy, Jasmin, Tristan and Gabriel that set fire on Greenwich Citizens to push for this.

It was almost two years ago that young women from The Halley Academy spoke out about this; that we took action; that we made news stories and we attended parliamentary meetings and all-party parliamentary groups.

Change can be a slow and painful process, and it certainly takes a village; as a woman – thank you! And as an organiser – congratulations!

This win belongs to all the women that shared their pain and to all that allowed others to do so.
