Update to Start of Module 3 Arrangements

Dear Parents and Carers

As you may have heard in the media, the Government has announced a staggered start to the new module.

Students in Years 11 and 13, children of critical workers and vulnerable children (regardless of age), will attend the Academy as planned from Tuesday 5th January 2021. Years 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12 will all return to school the week beginning Monday 11th January 2021. These year groups will have online home learning for the first week (Tuesday 5th – Friday 8th January), following their normal timetable.

This staggered start arrangement will enable both the Academy and the Trust to prepare thoroughly to facilitate the new mobile rapid Covid-19 test system. More details on this will follow in due course.

Unfortunately, on-site catering will not be available during the first week of Module 3. We are therefore asking families to provide packed lunches for students in Years 11 and 13 who are not entitled to Free School Meals. We will provide more details regarding our FSM entitlement as soon as we have confirmed our arrangements.

Again, on behalf of all the staff at The Halley Academy, I would like to thank you for your continued support and wish you and your families a very happy and restful Winter break.

Please note that Monday 4th January 2021 is an INSET day and the academy is closed to all students.

Yours faithfully

John Dixon | Principal
