Dear Parents/Carers,
From Monday 6th March, your child will be sitting a second series of mock examinations over a two week period which will equip your child with the experience of what to expect in their International Baccalaureate and/or Vocational Qualification examinations. It will also provide your child with an up-to-date analysis of their current academic performance.
The mock examinations will take place in the Academy’s Main Hall and will follow the Joint Council of Qualifications (JCQ) standards and conditions. Students will sit papers in all subjects they will take this summer, with each exam designed to assess the knowledge and skills taught during this academic year. The results from these examinations will be provided to students in the second half of Module 4 and a copy will be sent to you electronically for your reference.
Students must attend the Academy as per their normal timetable if they do not have an exam. All students are expected to attend the Academy each day in line with the Sixth Form dress code and bring a black pen and pencil. Students should bring their Chromebooks to the Academy to support their studies.
During this time we recommend that students get plenty of rest, maintain a healthy diet and talk to you or Academy staff if they feel stressed or anxious about the examinations. Please continue to support and motivate your child during this time and in the build-up to the examinations this summer. If you feel that your child requires further support or if you have any questions regarding the mock examinations, please contact the Hawking School.
Please find attached a copy of the examination timetable. The Academy strongly recommends that your child prepares fully for these examinations, with all learning resources available via their Google Classroom.
Yours faithfully,
Mathieu Stevens
