Year 11 Half Term Intervention and Homework Programme

Three students can be seen sitting in an outdoor area of the academy, laughing and socialising together.

Dear Parents/Carers,

Our Year 11 students have worked incredibly hard during this module towards their GCSE examinations which will take place in the summer of 2024.

Next week we are looking forward to welcoming all the Year 11 students for their half term revision sessions on Monday 23rd, Tuesday 24th and Thursday 26th October 2023. There will be different subjects on each of the days. Below is the schedule for the sessions;

Monday 23rd October 2023
1st session – Maths
2nd session – Food, Engineering and Art

Tuesday 24th October 2023
1st and 2nd session – Food, Engineering, Art and IT

Thursday 26th October 2023
1st and 2nd session – Sports Studies and Business

Whilst we want our students and families to enjoy a well earned break over the half term, it is essential that all students dedicate sufficient time within the break to further consolidate the learning that has taken place since September, whilst also preparing themselves for the work that will continue in the next module. Next module, their work will be further assessed in a fortnight of mock examinations which will take place from Monday 4th December.

As a result, all students have been set homework tasks to complete in each subject over the half term break. These tasks have been posted onto their Google Classrooms as assignments and deadlines have been set for the students. These will be highlighted through your Google Guardian accounts.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for supporting your child at home with their learning. If you do have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at eleanor.parsons@thehalleyacademy.org.uk or jonathan.kamya@thehalleyacademy.org.uk.

Yours faithfully,

Eleanor Parsons
