Google Guardian

Two female students are pictured sat together at a desk, beside a large window, working on Chromebook laptops.

Dear Parents/Carers,

The Academy uses Google Classroom to set all materials and assignments, ensuring students can follow their usual timetable using their Chromebook, whilst studying independently. All students have their Google Classroom login codes, and have been added to each of their subject classrooms. This software allows students to complete their work, receive feedback from their teachers and ask any questions they might have.

Google Guardian runs alongside Google Classroom and provides parents and carers with the opportunity to:

  • Have weekly or daily updates on the assignments your child has received;
  • Review the completion deadline for each assignment;
  • Be informed of any overdue tasks, which Google refers to as ‘missing’.

We will be sending out another sign up email to the address that you have provided when joining the Academy. This link will allow you to access Google Guardian. Should you need to update your current email address, please contact your child’s small school.

Our parental teaching and learning workshop on Thursday 12th October will also be focused on this learning platform. In the meantime, should you have any questions regarding Homework or the Google Guardian software, please do not hesitate to contact me on eleanor.parsons@thehalleyacademy.org.uk

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Yours faithfully,

Eleanor Parsons
Head of Franklin School
