Dear Parent/Carer

Leadership Changes at The Halley Academy

I hope you are enjoying a restful Easter break with your family and friends.

I am writing to inform you of a series of changes and additions to the Senior Leadership Team at the Academy that will come into effect at the start of Module 5.

After 4 years in post, Miss Sharma, Deputy Principal, will be moving into a new teaching and administrative role for an interim period. Miss Sharma has played an invaluable role in the successful running of the Academy since 2020, and everybody in the Academy will continue to benefit from her skills, expertise and commitment to providing the best possible education for our students in her new role.

I am delighted that Mrs Cronin, current Head of Easley School, will become our new Deputy Principal for this interim period. Mrs Cronin has worked at the Academy for more than three decades; her wealth of knowledge and experience will ensure the Halley remains synonymous with high quality education and bespoke pastoral care. Mrs Cronin will continue to serve as our Designated Safeguarding Lead in her new role.

We are also pleased to announce that Mr Chris Senior will be joining the Academy as the new Head of Easley School – Vice Principal. Mr Senior is a highly experienced and accomplished teacher and leader, who has worked in similar roles at senior leadership level at other schools across South East London. He looks forward to joining Easley School, and leading on behaviour and attendance at the Academy.

Our most recent Challenge Partners Report highlighted the strength of leadership at all levels in the Academy. I am confident that our new additions to the Senior Team will ensure these high standards not only remain, but are enhanced, as the Academy continues to grow and develop in the years to come.

I look forward to welcoming students back to the Academy on Monday 15th April, and wish you an enjoyable end to the Easter break.

Yours sincerely,

Ben Russell | Principal
