Dear Parents / Carers,

Les Miserables Theatre Trip

An exciting opportunity has arisen for 30 students to see one of London’s longest-running musicals, Les Miserable in London on Tuesday 14th May. The MYP and GCSE Drama curriculums encourage students to see a range of live theatrical performances so that they can confidently analyse playscripts and live theatre productions, therefore this is an exciting opportunity for our students to enrich their learning and cultural capital by witnessing a live musical performance of a historically relevant play.

We will travel to the theatre by train, leaving the Academy at 11.25am.  The performance begins promptly at 1.30pm and lasts approximately 2 hours 30 minutes, including an interval.  Please ensure your child attends school in their full Academy uniform, wearing a suitable outdoor coat, and has lunch with them on this date, as we will be leaving the Academy before their lunchtime.  A packed lunch will be provided if your child receives free school meals.   We anticipate returning to The Halley Academy at approximately 5pm.

To secure a place for your child on this trip, a full payment of £11 should be made, via ParentPay, before Wednesday 8th May 2024.  Tickets will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. There are no travel costs as we are able to utilise the school party travel scheme via Transport for London. If you would like your child to carry some additional money to purchase a snack/beverage during the interval, please ensure they have this with them on the day.

In addition to the payment above, please complete this Google Form indicating if your child will be collected from the Academy or whether you are happy for them to travel home independently.

Yours faithfully,

Mrs H. Panton | Deputy Head of Turing School
