Dear Parents & Carers,

Online Safety

The online world is posing an ever-increasing risk to children, and it is important that schools, parents and carers work together to take an active role in teaching children about online dangers.  Learning how to act safely when using the internet is an incredibly important part of safeguarding our children.

As you may already know, The Halley Academy has shown our commitment to protecting our pupils online by working with National Online Safety – providing resources for all Parents and Carers. 

The resources include Parents & Carers courses (presented by Myleene Klass), online video resources and weekly guides covering a huge range of topics, including:

If you have not previously done so, you can create your account by following  https://nationalonlinesafety.com/enrol/the-halley-academy and completing your details.  When you are set up, you must set ‘Parent/Carer’ as your user type.

The Halley Academy is committed to being awarded the National Online Safety Accreditation for the 4th year in a row. As part of our programme of Continued Professional Development staff have already completed a range of certified courses and engaged with webinars this academic year. As part of the award accreditation parental/carer engagement is required and I would request that when you have created your account that you complete one of the courses highlighted below in order for The Halley Academy to receive this year’s award. Once you are signed up, please complete the most appropriate certification. 

The Halley Academy also sends out weekly National Online Safety guides about online safety to all of our parents and carers.
