We are pleased to invite you to our forthcoming ‘Year 7 Meet the Tutor and Chromebook Collection Evening’ on Thursday 29th September 2022, between 3.30pm and 5.30pm.
Meet the Tutor Information
This will be an opportunity for you to meet your child’s small school team and their tutor in a face-to-face meeting. You will be able to get an insight into how your child has settled into Year 7 at The Halley Academy and find out how you can support their learning this academic year. This event is in addition to parents’ evening, where you will discuss individual subject progress with all of your child’s teachers.
Chromebook Collection Information
The Halley Academy is committed to delivering a comprehensive digital strategy to all students with a loaned electronic device to support their academic progress. This programme is in partnership with Leigh Academies Trust and will enable your child to access a suite of high quality home learning resources that complement their classwork.
To ensure we are able to deliver the electronic devices to students safely and all relevant paperwork is completed, a parent or carer is required to collect the device with their child. The devices provided to students are loan devices and come at no cost to you or the student, but must be returned at the end of their studies here at the academy.
Parents/Carers and students are required to complete a LAT Loan Agreement form to receive their child’s device. This form will be given to you when signing into the event. The device is registered to your child and it will be provided with a charger.
For the event, parents/carers should enter the academy via the Main Gate on Corelli Road and are able to travel to the academy by car, with parking available on site. The academy recommends that families also bring a bag to carry their device.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for supporting our Year 7 students through their transition. Our students have made an excellent start to their secondary school career and it is fantastic to see them being so enthusiastic about the academy.
